Lavender essential oil is found in a variety of natural health products and cosmetics. It is one of the most popular oils in aromatherapy, with soothing properties which assist with promoting good sleep and improving relaxation.

Today we are sharing with you this gorgeous wax melt recipe which includes a decorative dried lavender detail to enhance the relaxation in a room.

You will need:

Step 1

Melt the wax in a double boiler until it has reached up to a temperature of 85c. Do not heat above 90c as this can damage the wax.

Step 2

Whilst the wax is melting, weigh 5g of essential oil.

Step 3

Go back to your wax and give it a gentle stir. Make sure the wax is fully melted before continuing the next steps. It should look clear and smooth in appearance.

Step 4

Check the temperature of the wax is below 70c. If it is not wait until it has cooled to around 67c. Add the fragrance oil and gently stir for 2 minutes until fully blended.

Step 5

Next, sprinkle dried lavender into each circle of the mould. add as many or as little as you want. Do not overfill as you will want some space for the wax to sit.

Step 6

Pour the wax into a jug and slowly pour this into each cavity of the mould. You can sprinkle some extra lavender on top of each wax melt.

Step 7

Leave these to set for at least 24 hours. Then un-mould each shape to reveal your lavender embedded melts.

Add to the top of a wax melt warmer and light a tea light candle to add beneath. Watch each wax shape melt and release a beautiful relaxing aroma into the room. For an extra sparkle, why not add a sprinkle of mica powder into the wax mixture in after step 4. Mix this well and watch it swirl when the wax melts are melting.
