How much fragrance oil should I use?
All our fragrance oils are high-quality and specifically designed for their excellent fragrance release capabilities, meaning a small amount is usually sufficient. Calculating the exact quantity you’ll need is relatively complex, so we’ve created a guide that provides more detailed information, which you can find here. As a general rule, it’s advisable to start with a fragrance oil proportion of 5 to 8% of the total volume, although you can go up to 10% for less intense scents. It’s always best to experiment with each wax and fragrance oil blend, remembering to proceed gradually, increasing the quantity little by little. If you follow the guide and adhere to the flash point temperatures, you’ll be creating beautifully scented candles in no time. It is not recommended to use a proportion of fragrance oil greater than 12% of the total volume, in order to prevent the candle from oozing or the oil from running down the side of the candle.
Are you using this fragrance in a reed diffuser?
This scented oil is currently being reformulated; we will keep you informed when it is ready to be used in diffusers again.
Can I use this scented oil in soap?
Our fragrance oils are specially formulated for use in soap bars. Consult the safety data sheet for information on the maximum percentage of oil to use for each fragrance in soap bar manufacturing applications.
Before purchasing our products, please refer to our CLP (Classification, Labelling and Packaging) Information Notice regarding the use of fragrance oils in candle manufacturing. This information covers the chemical composition of the oils as well as potential allergic reactions.
Fragrance oils typically have a shelf life of one year from the date of manufacture. However, many fragrance oils can last for months or even years after this date if stored correctly. Tests (which we do not offer) can be performed on fragrance oils to determine their suitability beyond their shelf life.
The current IFRA documents (IFRA version 48) are relevant and applicable to all our fragrances until February 2022, the effective date of the new classifications for existing products, i.e., fragrances already on the market. All new fragrances are already subject to IFRA 49 classifications. Over the coming weeks, as we receive relevant information, we will update and make the necessary changes to our website.
