As these clamshells hold up roughly 78g of wax, we\u2019ll be rounding up and measuring 80g of wax onto a weighing scale.<\/p>\r\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1827\" src=\"https:\/\/cosyowl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/1-1024x577.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"1827\" title=\"\"><\/p>\r\n<h2>Step 2 \u2013 Melt The Wax For The Clamshells<\/h2>\r\n<p>Once your wax is all measured out, it\u2019s time to melt it. Pop it onto a medium heat, by pouring some boiling water into a pot, and then adding the melting jug<em> en bain marie.<\/em> Let it melt it all the way through aiding the process by giving it a good stir around, as this is a small measurement of wax it won\u2019t take too long, roughly 10 minutes.<\/p>\r\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1828\" src=\"https:\/\/cosyowl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/2-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"1828\" title=\"\"><\/p>\r\n<h2>Step 3 \u2013 Add Colour Dye<\/h2>\r\n<p>Once the wax has melted, check the temperature. We want our wax to be between 80\u00b0 and 65\u00b0 degrees, so if it\u2019s above 65\u00b0 degrees, simply pop the jug aside to settle for a couple of minutes. Now, add a couple of pinches of dye and give a nice stir around while maintaining it onto a low heat, try to dissolve any blotches and let the dye melt through the wax uniformly.<\/p>\r\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1829\" src=\"https:\/\/cosyowl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/3-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"1829\" title=\"\"><\/p>\r\n<h2>Step 4 \u2013 Pour Wax Into The Clamshells<\/h2>\r\n<p>The ideal pouring temperature is around the 55\u00b0 degrees mark, so, do remember to check your temperature first. Pour into the clamshell and leave it set. You don\u2019t need to pour with extreme precision as this wax will be chopped up later on.<\/p>\r\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1830\" src=\"https:\/\/cosyowl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/4-1024x575.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"1830\" title=\"\"><\/p>\r\n<h2>Step 5 \u2013 Melt The Wax For The Heart Melts<\/h2>\r\n<p>Onto your weighing scale, measure out 400g of wax into the pouring jug and simply repeat the process. It is going to take a little longer this time as it is a bigger measurement of wax, roughly 15 minutes, also, remember to stir vigorously every now and then. Keep an eye on the melting process.<\/p>\r\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1831\" src=\"https:\/\/cosyowl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/5-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"1831\" title=\"\"><\/p>\r\n<h2>Step 6 \u2013 Add Your Fragrance Oil<\/h2>\r\n<p>If unsure, check our <a href=\"https:\/\/cosyowl.com\/en_ie\/guides\/how-to-use-fragrance-oils\/?wmc-currency=EUR\">flashpoint guide and chart<\/a> for your chosen fragrance oil\u2019s exact flashpoint. Then, ensure that you are pouring at the ideal temperature and simply add 60ml of <a href=\"https:\/\/cosyowl.com\/en_ie\/candle-making-supplies\/fragrance-oils-for-candle-making\/premium-fragrance-oils\/cosy-owl-premium-1-million-type-fragrance-oil\">fragrance oil<\/a>.<\/p>\r\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1832\" src=\"https:\/\/cosyowl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/6-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"1832\" title=\"\"><\/p>\r\n<h2>Step 7 \u2013 Pour Wax Into The Mould<\/h2>\r\n<p>Using a pouring jug and maintaining your wax around 55\u00b0 degrees, start pouring as precisely as possible into the heart-shaped mould. Be careful and pour only half way up into the mould, you will need the extra room to insert the \u2018bloody\u2019 centre as well as to cover it up over the top. Leave it to set for 10 &#8211; 15 minutes, you won\u2019t need them to settle completely yet.<\/p>\r\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1833\" src=\"https:\/\/cosyowl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/7-1024x577.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"1833\" title=\"\"><\/p>\r\n<h2>Step 8 \u2013 Brake The Wax In The Clamshell<\/h2>\r\n<p>By now, the wax in your clamshell should have settled for at least 60 minutes and should be hard enough to be easily broken up.
